Job Profile
The Parts technician will be a key figure in supporting DFI’s facility and field operations, and branches, in supplying parts and materials to sustain efficient operations. The facility includes the following departments: pipe mill, screw pile fabrication, maintenance and machine shop, welding, paint booth and an assembly department. Field operations and branches will require supplies shipped to site, branch, or require a purchase order to complete their purchases.
Job Duties
Receive parts requests and fill orders for internal customers, via email, parts counter, phone.
Obtain and supply quotes for internal customers when requested.
Lookup items in parts’ catalogs and equipment drawings
Create purchase orders with approved vendors
Order parts from vendors and manufactures
Complete the PO process, ensuring orders are correctly coded for AP month end.
Loading and unloading shipments from couriers with forklift
Ensure accuracy of all incoming shipments
Receive parts into inventory system and distribute material to proper departments
Complete order picking and branch transfers
Ensure parts are properly issued out to equipment from inventory
Follow all DFI safety policies and procedures
All other duties as assignedQualifications
Journeyperson parts certificate, Alberta or interprovincial. Minimum 3-year experience as a parts technician, heavy duty preferred with back counter service shop experiencePurchasing parts and completing purchase orders. Basic computer skills, and able to read equipment drawingsCustomer service oriented Excellent oral and written communication skillsForklift operating experience and Safety consciousPhysically fit and able to safely lift and move heavy objectsValid class 5 driver’s license
