History

DFI began as Dave Freeland Transport Ltd., a one truck oilfield transportation company, in 1969. Over the next 20 years, the business hauled oilfield materials and equipment throughout Western Canada and the Northwest Territories.

As Dave’s experience grew, the company’s focus changed to piling, and in 1989 became DFI (Dave Freeland Industries). Since, DFI has evolved into – your one-stop steel piling source – largely due to building the only piling-exclusive steel pipe mill in North America, and creating a line of proprietary purpose-built piling equipment.

DFI has grown to a multi-national company with offices across Canada, the United States and Australia. From day one, our focus has been on delivering responsive, innovative, and reliable service wherever our customers needed. This remains as true to us today as in 1969.

Supply Chain Transparency

At DFI, we are committed to ethical business practices across our operations and supply chains. In compliance with Canada’sFighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (Bill S-211), we are taking active steps to identify and prevent the use of forced or child labour. Our full statement and annual disclosure report can be found here.
