Driven Piles

Over the course of just two months, DFI Piling crews installed more than 45,000 meters of pipe while maintaining steady progress across multiple active work areas.

A major part of the project involved completing over 900 field weld splices, requiring constant coordination between welders, operators, and support crews. With work moving simultaneously across the site, maintaining flow between lifting, fit-up, welding, and installation was critical to keeping production on track.

Rather than slowing operations with stop-and-start scheduling, the project was structured around continuous movement. Multiple crews and equipment units worked together in sync, allowing installation activities to progress efficiently from one section to the next.

Multiple Units. One Continuous Workflow

To maintain momentum across the project, several crews and specialized equipment units operated simultaneously throughout the site:

  • 3 Piling Installation Units: Supporting ongoing structural and installation-related foundation work across active zones.
  • 3 Pickers On Site: Dedicated to handling and positioning pipe sections while assisting field splice operations and material movement.
  • Integrated Field Crews: Welders, and support personnel worked together through coordinated installation cycles to minimize downtime and keep work fronts moving.

The combination of equipment availability, field coordination, and experienced crews allowed work to continue at a consistent pace even under demanding schedule pressures.

Built for Volume, Speed, and Coordination

The success of the Gold Creek Project came down to execution in the field. With multiple operations happening at once, efficiency relied on strong communication, equipment coordination, and keeping every stage of installation moving without delay.

 Key factors included:

  • Continuous pipe installation sequencing
  • High-volume field welding operations
  • Coordinated lifting and material handling
  • Efficient crew movement across active work fronts
  • Maintaining productivity under a compressed timeline

Project Outcome

The Gold Creek Project highlights DFI Piling’s ability to deliver large-scale industrial pipe installation under demanding field conditions and accelerated schedules. Through coordinated crews, specialized equipment, and disciplined execution, the project team successfully maintained production targets and completed major installation milestones within a tight two-month window.
