Job Profile

The Technical Services Lead – Technical Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of DFI’s projects with a focus on field aspects (survey, load testing, pile dynamic testing, etc.)

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the effective coordination of the Technical Services Specialists team; assign, direct and evaluate their work and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
  • Assign, coordinate and support Static Dynamic load Testing Technicians and Surveyors for project-based work
  • Provide technical and non-technical support (quality, welding, survey, PDA testing, static load testing) to ensure quick resolution and on time completion of projects
  • Responsible for the training of new Technical Services Specialists
  • Represent DFI at client kick off and progress meetings
  • Monitor project progress to ensure design and installation requirements are being met
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing Dynamic Testing Reports (PDA’s) and Static Load Testing Reports in compliance with applicable standards for review and stamp from P. Eng
  • Coordinate calculations for survey projects using MicroSurvey CAD
  • Work closely with the TSL – Quality Coordinator to coordinate man power
  • Any other duties required to support technical services
  • Must be willing to work outside of regular business hours

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is an asset
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of profession
  • Ability to travel out of town periodically
  • Regular field visits for project support required
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Fast learner and a team player
  • Familiarity with MicroSurvey CAD required
  • Familiarity with MS Projects and MS Office
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to multitask effectively and efficiently
  • Hold weld inspection ticket or ability to obtain an asset
