Job Profile
DFI's Mechanical Engineers are at the forefront of DFI’s innovation, designing complete machines in close collaboration with our internal manufacturing teams. With ongoing research and development initiatives, you'll be part of a small team creating custom equipment from the ground up.

Job Duties
- Create, upgrade and optimize equipment designs/processes to support DFI operations
- Take part in research and development initiatives
- Investigate equipment failure and provide solutions
- Research and review vendor proposals and technical documentation (drawings, calculations, datasheets, etc.)
- Create models, carry out FEA studies, create part and assembly drawings
- Create documents and equipment manuals
- Revise designs, drawings, and schematics as needed
- Create as-built drawings for existing equipment
- Collaborate with the manufacturing group throughout the build process
Qualifications
- Candidate must be a professional Mechanical Engineer eligible to practice in Alberta under APEGA.
- 5+ years direct experience in detailed mechanical and structural design including hydraulic and powertrain systems.
- Extensive experience with 3D modeling and Finite Element Analysis is required,
- Autodesk Inventor experience is an asset
- Strong aptitude for teamwork
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
