Job Profile

Our Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyman are responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy and light fleet vehicles, light machinery, associated equipment to meet specified standards, timeframes and in the most cost effective manner according to maintenance schedules.

Wage: $45-$50 / hour

Job Duties

  • Service all on road equipment within DFI’s fleet including: highway tractors, mobile cranes, skid steers, picker trucks, wheel loaders and additional equipment, as required
  • Major component replacement and rebuilds as needed
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems
  • Shop maintenance and clean up
  • Field repairs as required
  • Requesting of quote for repairs/sourcing parts
  • Tracking of service intervals on equipment
  • Maintaining parts inventory

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 License Required
  • Registered Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician
  • On-road and off-road experience
  • Crane experience is an asset
  • Must be willing to travel on occasion, including overnight travel/camp situations
  • Ability to work alone and in groups is a must
  • Truck Trailer CVIP License is an asset
